As you will see, this website has not been updated since 2019!
However, we are keen to see the site continue and are looking for writers who would like to write articles in English, about Sion and the Valais.
A lot has been happening in Sion and the Valais in the past four years, the centre of the town is under a massive, and exciting construction project, and we look forward to seeing the finished result. We hope to report on it here.
If you would like to write for the site, do feel free to send a sample of your writing to cnp2@bluewin.ch and your areas of interest. Please note this on the understanding that the website is run purely on a volunteer basis – currently Living in Sion receives no advertising income.

For info on current events in Sion, check out the events calendar on the Sion tourism website, or take a look at Le Nouvelliste newspaper for articles, sports, culture, and news. There is a local television station called Channel 9 also with news and information on the Valais.
There is also a Meet Up group called “Valais English Club” which holds regular events throughout the year from potluck dinners to hiking, skiing, or meeting up at Carnival time. Carnival is a BIG event in the town, see our previous article here.
