If you fancy an alfresco feast whilst exploring the Valais area, why not pick up a picnic from Sion tourist office? From the 15th May to the 15th September 2018, picnics can be provided to the public (with 24 hours notice).
The picnic basket/bag consists of local produce from the Val D’Hérens and includes a selection of cheeses, wine, juices, water, hams, bread, dried meats and more, for just CHF 59 for two people.
There are hundreds of beauty spots in and near Sion to sit and enjoy a fabulous view whilst eating your portable picnic! The photo of a picnic on this link here was taken at the panorama of Nax, one of two great viewing points in this pretty Valaisan village just a 20-minute drive (or a 40-minute bus ride from Sion).
