The Pierre Arnaud Foundation is a cultural centre in Lens which holds regular exhibitions that are open to the public. The building, with its photovoltaic solar panels on the outside, reflects the mountains, lake and stunning scenery around it. The next exhibition “Aboriginal Art – Dreaming Territory” begins on the 1st December 2017 and continues until 20 May 2018.
Lens is near the resort of Crans-Montana and is around a 30-minute drive from Sion. The centre is easily accessible with a lift to all levels of the centre and a ramp outside. There is a Post Bus that leaves from Sion railway station and stops at the centre. See full directions here.
There is a restaurant inside the building and an outside terrace for those summer days. Snacks and a “menu du jour” are on the menu during the day and the full restaurant dining experience during the evening.
Overlooking Lens and the Rhone Valley is the monumental statue of “Christ-Roi”. This 30-metre tall statue was inaugurated in 1935. To reach the statue there are signs from the centre of the village, and not far from the Pierre Arnaud Foundation.
